Hey I was wondering if anyone on here has any experience with Carolina Machine Engines (purchased a new engine, parts, etc.)? I am looking to buy an engine for my E-body project and I thought I would get some reviews on them before I decide to pull the trigger.

I haven't installed it yet.
OK?
Seen their youtube video?
But I was very impressed with the cost, communication, turn time and external appearance of the engine that has arrived.
They sent the "used" parts back with it.
Including the cracked 906 head they replaced that I did not know was cracked.
I would not hesitate to buy one of their "packaged" engines.
I only read one bad thing about them online.
And that one posting had an "odor" about it.
Why would someone in the north use them to build what was obviously a "custom" MOPAR engine when places like Muscle Motors do that and are much closer?
Just was odd to me.

I've heard of them. That's about all. Nothing bad, though.

That's something, right?

I bought a short block from them-they are very knowledgeable and it wasn't a bad price on the engine. They DO seem to go the distance on doing quality work from the attitude of the employees and what I see of their work. I ordered during the busy time of year,so I received my block a little slower and their communication with me on that matter could have been a lot better but that's the way it works. When I fire up that engine ,hopefully this weekend for the first time, I EXPECT good things, and all the other B.S. will be forgotten. I am from "the north" and did not/would not leave THAT bad ink,b.t.w.

I live near Muscle Motors( btw, they are now closed and out of business)
If you had heard and had first hand knowledge of some of the horror stories that came out of that place..... most anybody would be a better alternative

My dealing with them last winter didn't work out, I wanted a 360 short block, there was a long delay with the procuring of a core on their end, after they said they had some initially, which was why I was going with them in the first place. I believe they actually had an abundance of magnum style cores as I was asked a few times what I was wanting to build with my EQ magnum style heads. They mentioned also that they were backed up with work. Not sure sure what the deal was. Might have been just timing, core availability flucuations, who knows. They may have one, or be able to get one easily, or they may suggest you supply one. Might require patience on your end, or might be fast turnaround.

installed a 360 CME longblock and am very happy
with it. It exceeded my expectations. Very good to deal
with. Quality workmanship, good customer service, and
good turn around time. Runs SUPER

Really?
First I've "heard" of any problems there.
But I had heard that they are closed now.
I did call once and wasn't too impressed with the people skill of the person I talked to.
(Wasn't "Mike".)
And Google street maps didn't show much of an operation.

So, by speaking ill of the dead, what are the horror stories you know of?
It IS getting close to that time of the year.
Trick or treat.

Pistons installed backwards, head porting not done that was paid for, heads given a " quicky" shine job to make it appear metal had been moved when it wasn't.
Locals around here learned to avoid them since Chuck Senator left there years ago.
I called them out long ago, this isnt new now that they are closed. Long threads on Moparts about some of this stuff. Lots of them
A close friend of mine got shafted with the shine job. Those heads then went to a very well know Mopar only smallblock head shop, where he said they couldnt have spent 1/2 hour total on the heads. And they charged him 800 for doing nothing except try and decieve the guy
Wondered why his 12.5 to 1 408 stroker ran 11.50's best with " ported" eddies
Came back from the other shop and went 11.03 off the trailer on a 90 degree day first outing, i was there.
