color behind grille - 68 cuda conv.

How did it come originally from the factory? I thought it was supposed to be the same color as the body. Regardless, I feel it'll look way better painting it flat black color.
 
If Ma Mopar stuck to their "rules", when the car was a 'light color' it got a sloppily applied matte black spray from below . But as we all know, there are always exceptions to every rule. I don't like seeing body color through the grille, so I'd do it.

I my self never seen one that was body color.
 
Definitely blacked out. Helping with the resto on a 68 b-cuda vert that is the dark forrest green metallic, it was blacked out.
 
thanks all. I'll go for the flat black with a touch of overspray..:thumbsup:.
