You guys got me scared of tti headers!

Hey I'm not trying to take you down a notch or anything. I just think the way you said it the first time makes it seem like modifying the engine height with the spool mounts would be a piece of cake. And welding up and grinding or just grinding the slot in the spool mounts wouldn't be a big deal by itself, but I thought it was important to mention that the reality of it is that in order to actually do that as part of the header installation process you'd either have to pull the engine and headers back out, or drop the K out of the car (unhooking all the suspension) while hanging the engine in place. At least once, if not more. Because that's the reality of it, and that's nothing like just sliding in a shim.

And yeah, I think it's worth mentioning my experience with both the TTI's and Doug's, because not everyone has actually installed both brands of header on the same exact car. And really, unless you do that you won't know which one would fit any particular car better. Factory tolerances weren't perfect, and neither are the tolerances on the headers, they're not all identical. Throw in different combinations of stock and aftermarket engine mounts, torsion bars, transmissions, steering boxes, oil pans etc. and some combo's will work great and some won't. Personally, even if I knew exactly how both sets would fit ahead of time and the TTI's would fit better I'd rather have to do a little more work and make the Doug's fit because having had both manufacturer's parts the Doug's are better quality. And you can usually get them cheaper too.
