steering column

Howdy any one ever take there steering shaft apart,when i bought my car the colmn was out,when i found it the splines were trashed for the steering wheel,so i bought another column but just realized its for standard steering,and mine is for power,does the shaft come apart,it appears its just a dd shaft, slid in, but its not moving ?

I should have plastic sheer pins through holes ( whether those were originally driven or poured/injected ). Defeat those and it will come apart.
