massive reconfiguration time again.

I've had a lot of fun with a 4bbl-teener, allbeit with 3.55s,3.91s,and 4.30s.That teener was my winter engine 5 years running. Every winter it got a different transmission.

My favorite was the OD box with the GVOD-splitter; 7 useable gears. Yeah I ran it with the 4.30s! Double OD was a 2.38 final drive, making 65=1923. Second over was 72mph@5000rpm; having used 4 ratios to get there, but just 1 pull on the stick. The ratios were 3.09-2.41-1.67-1.30-1.00-.78od-.55od with splits of .78-.69-.78-.77-.78-.71 that was an 1100 rpm powerband requirement, and ran like a CVT, a scalded dog.
If you ever luck into a GV, I guarantee a stone stock teener with just a 4bbl and 4.30s will shock you.

It was pretty good with an A 998/2800TC too.Actually that was one of my favorites. Not for performance, but; one winter I put a 2.76 rear gear in it, and I used to manually shift it into 3rd gear as fast as she'd take WOT,and listen to the TQ moan. I loved that.
