budget street motor 360 or 383 for 71 duster

To carry on in favor for the 383, the things I used to install it in place of the /6 are;

Schumacher swap kit
Summit aluminum radiator
Shorten driveshaft
Swapped the 7-1/4 rear for an 8-3/4 though a 8-1/4 would have done fine for the low power mill. S/S springs

I suggest tti headers and a aftermarket shifter. For a street build, this is a good starting point in the video below. Perhaps a little more cam? A better cam? A better set of lighter aluminum heads? That would clear your goals hurdle.
