1966 Plymouth Valiant 100 2 Door Post $975 Firm
Hi Everyone, I live in Indiana and I just bought this 1966 Valiant 100 2 door from California three months ago and had it shipped here. It was built in L.A. and has been in that area since new. This car has all the trim and is complete. Its not perfect but is all there. I have the broadcast sheet I found behind the rear seat and I had it laminated. The fender tag and vin tag are in place. It has a 225 slant 6 with a three on the tree manual transmission that match the car. The body is rust free, frame is solid, inside trunk is solid too. Has small soft spots on driver side floor and passenger rear floor. I believe they do not require whole patch panels. Its not that bad. A super solid car! The glass is in good shape with no cracks and is all there. The windshield only has minor sun damage on bottom edge. All windows roll down as they should. Doors shut great and unbelievably solid. It has 14 inch wheels with the small bolt pattern that I believe is very desirable. Tires hold air good and have good tread but small dry cracking on a couple of them. I have went through and electrical greased all external bulbs and dome light sockets. All the exterior lights work including the headlights (bright and dim), brake lights, back up lights, licence plate lights and turn signals. I haven't got the dash lights to work yet but I'm sure its in the headlight switch. The wiring has NOT been hacked up. I also have a extra fiberglass hood that is included but I prefer the factory one.
The interior is all there but will need reupholstered. The body is super solid with no rust but has some bumps here and there and the driver lower quarter is dented with some bad bodywork that someone started. (This car is NOT a bondo buggy). The quarter could be repaired but I was going to just replace the lower quarter to keep it all metal. Laysons and Classic Industries have it in stock for the 66 Valiant and Barracuda. The motor runs strong and appears to have been tuned up before I got it. I changed the gas filter, put in fresh gas, a battery and it started right up. The carb was rebuilt but they striped the inlet and it drips there. I was going to repair it but haven't yet. Someone put a manual choke on the carb replacing the automatic choke that could be returned to factory that I also haven't done yet. It has a small exhaust leak at the top only. The rest of the exhaust seems fine. The radiator is not present. Other than that the motor is as it should be other than cosmetics. All the gears work in the manual transmission but the linkage is sloppy and it pops out of first gear but I have the bushing that should correct this that I will include that one of this forum members was nice enough to provide to me. I have not messed with the brakes. I haven't even tried to pull the emergency brake because I was going to go through the whole brake system. It does not stop at this time but everything I have tried to fix on this car has been pretty easy and enjoyable so I don't see it being that big of an issue. As I said this car came from C.A. and I can provide the bill of sale that I received with the car and a bill of sale to whoever purchases it from me.
This is a great car to drive stock, custom or drag. I have done the best I can to be honest of what is needed. I believe just the doors and glass are worth what I'm asking for the whole car which is $975 firm what I paid for it. I really had high hopes of finishing this but I have spinal issues and it just got really bad. Sadly I cannot work on it anymore. Its really a shame. I paid $950 just to get it shipped here from C.A to IN and I'm loosing a lot of money on it but hopefully someone will do something good with it.
If your interested, message me and I will provide my phone number.
Thanks so much!
