Has anyone come up with a solution to replacing the lap belts with shoulder belts in a convertible with bucket seats?

I used 2005 BMW SEATS power and heated in my 67. Also have seen Sebring seats. Mine is not a conv.

I should have said, I don't want to put in new seats. I was thinking more like welding on an attachment point to just below the rear (side) window.

I'm beginning to think they don't have the overhead anchors. If you look at the link I posted for the original options packet, they show:

The photo depicts a 'vert, with the belts obviously fastened "behind" somewhere on the main body.

But the part number shows the same number for all cars!!! (A bodies) This would SEEM to indicate that the same belt and same anchor is used whether convertible or hardtop

Thank you! I was hoping this was something that had been figured out already; I was dreaming of a lot of anchor point scenarios.

Shoulder belts came along with the latches on hinged seat backs, 1968.
Sure the belt across your chest hurts in a collision. It would hurt a lot worse if that seat back goes forward with you. Only a crash test dummy knows for sure. LOL

Shoulder belts could be had in convertibles 68 -70 on A, B, E and some C bodies. The shoulder belt was usually mounted at the outer lap belt attachment and that the belt was usually about 52 inches long.

I went ahead and purchased the belts from Wesco Performance from the link sent by slantsixdan. It looks like exactly what I was looking for.

I hope you didn't get the 4-point harnesses.
No I got the three point retractable one. I just bought one side for now so I can see how it works out. I also bought their convertible attachment thingie which I think is just the thing for what I want to do. I really want to use the original bucket seats.
Thanks again for the link.

Tracking. This is very timely for me as I was just going to ask the same question. We have a '64 HT Dart GT and need to put good belts in it for our teenager. Is it true you should not put in shoulder belts if you have theNON-locking seat back type buckets??
Like these, but in a hard top.

That looks crazy. I don't think their engineers were trying very hard lol.
Actually, that is much better than things I've seen. I've seen home built solutions attached to the floor. Instant spinal compression upon impact.
