I hear ya. I'll help. Give me that 70 340 cuda lol

I know how you feel. I started restoring my dart 13 years ago but got out of the hobby for about 10 years. Got back on the car last year then I started having some health issues. I should have had the car done now but still have several months worth of work to do.
So....I bought another car last month. I worked long hours on it for a week straight and got in roadworthy again. Now that I finally have something to drive I can get back on the dart.
Oh yeah, I have a Cuda out in storage waiting restoration too. My best advice is to concentrate on one car at a time. Other option is to sell them all and buy a new challenger :)

Can I suggest just keeping one project. Having too many it is easy to feel overwhelmed and underwater.

I used to work at chrysler for 2 years and a half , i left when the hellcat arrived , theyre nice theyre fast..but i even rather have an old iron car that runs perfectly with the thick metal hood that pops rather than a new car...thats my opinion , but im trying to do everything at the same time and i dobt know were im going with all of this

I have also bitten off more than I can chew and it’s been a hell of a lot longer than 2 years for me. Just when I was ready to start up and break in my new engine, I found a totally rotted underdash wiring harness. And being as busy as I am and the wife getting her own Mopar with the engine building duties moved to me, it’s been 5 years sitting. A brand new rebuilt short block in a ‘73/4spd Cuda.

Yea yea, I’ll get there.

I spun a bearing in that Cuda 15 years ago. Having JUST purchased a house, it waited. I have owned that car since ‘87.

Just pick one and go as fast as the wallet allows for now.

Sometimes the joy is in the hunt. I had a talk with a new friend today and we skimmed this topic. Old cars are fun, new cars are boring. Traction control...? Mash the gas and you squirt ahead: no chirp, no climactic 4bbl opening. My SC just goes...and stops. heck, it doesnt even make much noise doing either. No wheel spin, no screeching brakes..its all drive by wire now. No feel , no feedback, no engine noises telling you to keep it in or let off. I dont even like rev limiters. Driving should be a two way conversation between you and your car. If it gets boring, yeah, it is just dull. Friend had a newer mustang. He hit the gas hard, and we took off. Linear acceleration, no spikes or bog. Wow, fun. We did it again...and again...and again. Same experience. Boring. But it did get us there, what else can we ask of a car, right? Wrong. How about a man/machine relationship? Where you hold the power to blow the motor under your foot at any time, where you can punish the tires in a dead skid, where you walk a fine line of control over chaos. Where you hold you and your cars fate in the palm of your hands and sole of your shoe? you want the opposite? Ride in a Tesla, yeah, I said ride in one becasue you really dont think your driving one of those do you? I would not be suprised if it would not let you drive it into a wall..Oh yeah, it wont. Save your memories when the autonomous car becomes law and you just summon one when you want to go somewhere. It will come driverless to your house and pick you up, then it will merge seemlessly onto a controlled freeway where the other driverless cars will magically make room for it and then tighten up again. Youll merge into faster lanes depending on how long you will be on that particular freeway with the center lanes exceeding 120 mph, and the outer lanes getting progressively slower until making an offramp will just be a gentle turn. Youll get out and and car will depart to pick up another passenger and start the process again. This will be mandated in large cities, with trucks getting the same autopilot when they enter city limits. Hey, Walt Disney saw this coming back in 1955.

The main problem is that i get attached to every car that i buy... And i always have big plans for them , but $$$$$.and after a while im like f*ck its a nice car but takes 3 000 hours and 20-30k

I had 3 old motorcycles in my garage that I was planning to restore. I had one almost done before I bought the other two and I started to feel stressed since I’m now restoring my 65 Valiant. I put all the bikes on Craigslist and sold the two untoughed ones fairly quickly. With those off my mind and the extra space in my shop I now feel more motivated to finish the remaining bike and continue working on the Valiant! Simplicity in life makes a huge difference in attitude!

Focus you time and effort on the 70 Cuda.....put the Hemi in it.
Let the others sit.
That 70 Cuda can be VERY reliable and bring back your enthusiasm.

Sell all your stuff and by a nice 60's-70's muscle car you can drive and enjoy...
This this this. Unless you're restoring something RARE or RARE and numbers matching you'll lose your *** on cost and labor trying to bring a run-down 60s/70s muscle car back to life. If you really want a driver sell all of your stuff and use that money to buy a driver in good shape. If you don't care about numbers matching/clone cars/restomods (like disc brake updates) you can get them even cheaper.

That's what I did. I got rid of all my stuff except my 71 Dart. It was a slant six now small block. I did the disc brake upgrade, HEI, some other stuff and little mods here and there. I have 1 box of spare parts for it. Sold all the bigger spare parts. Quit caring. And you know what? I enjoy driving it!

If something goes wrong I buy whatever is needed and deal with it. No hoarding parts.

Well you can be unhappy and have 4-5 projects. Or happy with one car you can drive everywhere and have fun with.I scaled back on my cars and parts a few years back. I was so bad I bought parts for cars I didnt even own.But if I found a good deal and had the money I would buy the part....lol it is a sickness

You got yourself into it, and you know the problem. Man up and fix it. Either sell your **** and get out, sell your **** and buy one you can drive, or decide the pecking order and start working on them. Its called growing up. I struggled with it into my 30s....lol.

Sell it all & buy a vintage four door.

Speed is over rated, comfort is forever.

must be a 30s thing we car people go through. (I am 31) After years of daily driving a mopar and lacking any and all creature comforts on the road......I have often wondered what I am doing.

But still, there is a drive to press on and not give up no matter what anyone says, yet at the same time it's so exhausting.

Breaking up is hard to do.

Once they are gone, they are gone and you will never have the same experience again even if its with the same kind of car but a different one, just something to think about. :)

I've had both my projects about twice the time you have and I have no doubt done less work to them both, but I am still plugging along.

I told myself a while back that when I stop having fun, I'll get out of it. I'm still having fun.......however slow my progress is.

I have learned over the years that you need to have ONE drivable project car to keep you motivated and happy. You can have as many non-driveable ones as you can afford! It really helps to be able to go for a spin now and then.

I would have to agree with the idea that you have to "thin the heard" despite the attachment you get to your projects.
And I totally understand that thought, I get the same way.
I have 2 running cars, and I take car of my Brother's car, and even just getting them out can be a juggling act.
You have some awesome sounding projects, and I have to believe you could do a swap for a "lesser desired" driver on 1 of them.
And one of my kids favorite early car I had was this land yacht 4 door New Yorker.
Sometimes getting into a car and hitting a cruise, grabbing a burger or just getting through the park can "re-energize" you for your projects!
Remember, if it was easy everyone would do it.
Make sure you keep it fun!

Even though I only own one mopar, I have had my ups and downs too. I've had it for 12 years or so. A couple of years back I lost the spirit and it mostly sat in my garage for a year or two. I thought my interest for the hobby was gone for good. But I let it sit there and never sold it. Then all of a sudden the drive to work on it just came back, stronger than ever I must say. I worked on it like crazy and had so much fun. Now it's really close to my dream car, and I have a down period again, but I'm wiser now, also from taking advice from people on this great forum. Like others here said. How about selling some of your project cars, save your favourite. With the money you get you can turn it in to a nice reliable driver when you get the spirit back :)

Won`t happen in okla., were too poor to build hi ways that wide. They can`t even finish the ones they started 10 yrs. ago. Gotta mis spend and pay the big wigs tho !

never get attached. thats a problem too many have..

decide what car you like best and liquidate the rest for money to build the one you want.. pretty simple really.

if none of the stuff you have is what you want then sell that crap and buy what you want.

Hey, i’m 53. Just got two projects last summer. One i owned 25 years ago and one i always wanted.
I have spent my entire life fixing other peoples cars, acquiring skills and buying tools to fix other peoples junk and all i drive is beaters.
So enough is enough,im cutting back on the crap jobs and giving myself 3 days a week to get started on what i want to do,if im going to work myself to death it will be what i enjoy.

You have a good problem,a few cars and a stack of parts.
If its all paid for, then doing nothing costs you nothing.
I dont plan on spending 30 grand to drive a car, never have, never will. Build a budget driver and have fun.
Fixed up a truck last summer, dont care for the ride so im selling it in spring. Use the dough to buy parts for my builds.
