Many New Cars Have No Spare Tires

I get why a spare would not be included if there is no room, or if the wheels are staggered. It seems ridiculous to me to not have a spare if you can. As far as risking your life changing a tire goes, that's entirely up to the individual to make the call if its safe. some situations are just way too dangerous, and you as an individual have to asses the risk. Just because you have a tire in your trunk doesn't obligate you to perform a risky tire swap on a busy 4 lane highway with no shoulder. However, there are many more instances when an individual can safely change a flat and be on their way. I have used my spare on every single car and truck I've owned, and I only had the majority of those vehicles for 2 years or less, also 5 out of 12 of those vehicles were brand new, so it wasn't like I had worn out old rubber. I have bad luck with tires. It irritates me to think that I may have to pay extra to get a spare for my next new vehicle.
