1962 valiant shifter change

The thread on slantsix.org reminds us the '60-'61 cars had the transmission rotated (slanted!) to allow room for the shift linkage without need of a floor hump, and the '62 cars did not. I still say you ought to get with "Michael" over on .org for particulars.
