Auto Trans rec for my 5.7 EFI Swap

The 42rh (A500) is essentially a 904 with an overdrive and the A518 is a 727 with an overdrive. The 904 has been proven if built can be a great transmission, there is no reason why the A500 can't be built the same.

Don't let the tunnel mods scare you off, because there are none, the folks that have done it have removed the upper hoop in the torsion bar cross member and replaced it with a piece of steel. US Car Tool also make the trans mount and they claim that no work is needed. I have the trans and the mount so I am going to be testing this soon.

The GM 200r4 is a great option and is what I was going to go with, however, you have to get a bellhousing (I think) and the trans cores were pricey. I got the A500 for $200. Both have great ratios.
