Okay I just am not quite sure exactly with the oil pan deal is? I take it that the 360 pan is needed for the rear main? But I'm not sure if there's some kind of difference of front in the timing chain covers or something?
yep, correct. Magnum uses a 1 pc oil pan gasket, while as you already know the LA uses a 3 pc. But there are people right here on the FABO site that has used the mag pan with LA front.
On the camshaft, if you can find around a 1989 TBI LA motor, that cam will be roller and still have the snout for the mechanical fuel pump. Being LA in a magnum, you'll gain about .030 lift over factory
I have the 360 car pan/pickup tube for my mag. That was supposed to be in my '74 Duster now, however, I did the "low dollar 318" just for the newbies here on FABO.
