Just a thought. Howards makes a sweet small block mechanical cam. Its on a 106 like the 590 is, and is 260/264 at 50
I am running it with edm lifters and love it. Makes excellent power and sounds nasty.... lol. Thats very similar duration to what the 590 is. Hair less lift. I have it installed at 102 per the cam card

Even tho the mopar cam is advertised at 265@0.050 it's actually 271@0.050. I wanted to do some testing on the dyno with the mopar cam since I'm just really curious about how it compares. I had just finishing reading a article in Mopar Muscle/may 2013 in which they compared the old .590 to 7 other grinds from lunati/Howards/Hughes & Comp cams and the .590 held it's own. So i would just like to try it out myself. And if it does work decent then I can at least say I'm running a ancient tech purple shaft lol Oh and actually one of the cams they tested was a custom grind Howards 260/264@0.050 .656/.662 lift and the .590 made a avg of 8Ft Lbs/TQ & 9 Hp more over a 3500-7000 Rpm range. With the Howards cam being stronger up to 4500 rpm and the Mopar cam being stronger above 4500 Rpm. With some points as high as 30 hp more

They are a little pricey but not yet over the top like some of the discountinued line is;

Sell the lifters in the package.
200$ is actually pretty cheap for a cam/lifter package. Compared to some of the other MP grinds at almost dbl the cost. I mainly just wanted to do some dyno testing against a few other grinds to get some data on old technology VS new
 
In our 71 Diuster 360...a MP 590 ran a best of 10.65...and a Hughes 6064 cam ran a best of 10.64,,,,,the MP 590 is 271 degrees duration at .050.
