Factory Manual Car to Automatic floor shifter location

I did this last summer. Took 4-speed out, 904 in. 4-speed is back in! LOL.
Honestly, put the aftermarket shifter wherever you want. Back in the day I had a 72 duster Auto and I mounted a quick silver b&m on the floor hump. It had the bench seat with the fold down center. I moved the seat all of the way forward and between not hitting my hand on the dash in park and not hitting the bench in low there wasn't much wiggle room anyways. I loved it. (Long before I ever touched a 4-speed!)
Now this last summer in the 73 duster we had race buckets, roll bar, ect... I took out the hump, riveted sheet metal over the hole and made a 10 inch pedestal mount and mounted it so the shift knob while in drive (ratchet mode) was 4 inches parallel to 3 o'clock on the steering wheel. This of course was all a special set up for my wife to drag race the duster. We qualified it for a passenger and I took her for passes and she loved it, but didn't show enough interest to continue.
That 904 was the best, most lighting quick, responsive shifting automatic I had ever had the pleasure of owning....that 904 is sold and gone with my 4-speed back where it's supposed to be!
DON'T SELL YOUR 4-SPEED STUFF!!!
have fun..
