FiTech EFI system
Well, I've read all 58 pages and done my due diligence elsewhere and I have decided to jump into the FiTech market. It looks like it will be the 2x4 1200 power adder setup for my blown 340 Demon. My current setup is 2-600 holley 600's mechanical secondary's that are boost referenced. My ignition is a MSD 6AL and a MSD 8534 dizzy, (locked at 31 degrees), and MSD wires and the ballast resistor is removed. My idea is to let the Fitech control the advance as well as the fuel.
For duel delivery I am planning on using my stock tank and 3/8 sender unit. I will then have a inline filter then a Walbro 392 inline pump. I am going to use new push lock plumbing from the pump to the Fitech. I will then run a return line from the Fitech to my existing 3/8 hard line and use it all the way back to a bung in the top of my tank. Somewhere in there I will run a cutoff switch for the pump in case of any unforeseen problems such as a roll over or some other kind of accident.
I don't race the car so I feel the Walbro will be plenty to supply fuel. One of the things I have read over and over is that most of the problems people are having with Fitech stuff can be attributed to wires not being shielded good enough so I will take care of that and make sure everything is grounded good.
I do have a couple of questions though. How big of a problem is it if you have header leaks at the heads? I have never been able to get my to seal good. Can I install the O2 sensor in the header? I currently have an O2 sensor farther back and an A/F sensor as well. Boost is also monitored by a gauge.
So now it comes down to deciding where to buy it. Anybody got any discount codes for anywhere to save a few bucks? Do any of the vendors here sell them now? I may even buy a second unit for another car if I can get a good deal.
