Just got my engine back from being rebuilt and its running okay. But I'm not happy with the Edelbrock 1406 that its on it. I've been looking at the Quickfuel carbs which would be best. I have an Edelbrock Preformer intake and the engine is a 360 with a little hotter than factory cam, it's not crazy!

I am running a QF Black Diamond 1957 600cfm on my 360 and seems to be sufficient.

I put the 600vs slayer on mine and it' been a pain to get it to stop idling so rich. Besides that its runs good. The slayer is the cheapest version, single metering block. You probably should step up to a better version with 4 corner idle.

I have an HR650 on one of my smallblocks. It’s been the best off the shelf carbs I have ever purchased. I would buy another tomorrow.

I have the QF 750 "race" (chokeless) - literally took it out of the box and bolted it on.. I have never looked back. The ONLY adjustment I have done was to the idle.

same thoughts here.
put one on an almost stock 318, dropped the IFR down a bit and set idle mix. it works great. it was so close out of the box i think it would've been fine if i would've just bolted it on and went...

Buy a carb line that has to have a screw in fitting on the end so you can reduce it down to 5/16”
