741,742,489 etc cases are all interchangeable between the housings, just the ring gear, pinion gear and in most cases the carriers are not. For example, you can't put a 489 gear set into a 741 or 742 case, nor vice versa
However, I do think the suregrip parts interchange between the 741/742 cases
