I bought these heads thinking I could possibly have them fixed and use them on my 5.9 magnum swap. But I found a great deal on a set of Hughes EQ heads instead. I bought these heads from a guy that was selling off his deceased fathers hoard of parts. He didn't know any history on them. One of the rocker mounts is broke off. The threads extend pretty far into the head past the break. So i figured a longer stud/bolt could be used and then possibly use a rocker girdle to strengthen it all up just in case. Some of the holes have been helicoiled and repaired. I'm not sure what kind of valve train or excessive spring pressure issues he had going on to cause the problems. There aren't any springs, retainers, or keepers. Just the pair of heads and valves that came from them. I do have the stock set of magnum heads from my 5.9 amd can include all of the the springs and retainers from them if wanted. Located in Oklahoma City. I would prefer local pickup but will ship. Asking $350 OBO

What makes these different from regular non r/t heads other than the casting?

Jake

Those “Magnum R/T” heads are MoPar aftermarket heads and NOT stock OE heads ever. R/T Vehicles had regular Magnum heads. Never R/T heads.

I forget what they flow over the OE regular production Magnum head but an improvement they were.

Ryan J @ shady dell speed shop knows how to port these into some real performance/race monsters.

Sorry for the commentary, just trying to set the record straight and offer some facts in there potential.

Can you post pictures of the repairs and of the broken mount? Interested, but concerned about the repairs made/needed.

In the last couple pictures I posted it looks like there is another cracked mount. It was just a spider web and I can't see anymore cracks. There are two holes with helicoils. I can't those as being an issue though

Back a few years ago, NHRA allowed the Stock eliminators to run the R/T heads. The were worth about 2ths of a seconds on ET, but they added 6 HP to your factor. It really wasn't worth is because we saw no real changes in our ET.

The witness marks are there from spring shims on all the spring seats I can see, for a new head with new springs seems like somebody was crutching the wrong springs,
may be a clue.............

Those are excellent heads.
I has a set on an enginemasters 318 motor i ran in a 3400 pound car. Kinda street strip deal with only 4.10 gears, small tube headers and a 231/238 hydralic cam
Went 11.60’s on pump gas( 10.4 compression) with a flat hood.
They make excellent power

I can believe this. The castings on mine were ultra-rough and the guide bosses were huge out of the box. I really believe a stock Magnum head would outflow them AS CAST. After porting though, they were beasts. LOTS of metal removal!!

Any interest in these at all? Make me an offer.

I'm considering the shipping costs.
They are a good set of heads, flow only a hair better than stock mags, but I'll echo what others have said ...they will flow in the 270's fairly easy with some work and even more if you go deep.
They would make a great replacement head for my 1500 4x4 I plan on sticking a 4" crank into, those heads with that stroke will pull weight with ease.

Question, is the broken rocker stand helicoiled? If not I'd shallow pin off to the corner and epoxy it with the stud oiled and run em
