It has a much better road feel.
When not moving it is heavy but this can be avoided most of the time. For example when backing out of the driveway just straighten out the steering wheel while still moving backwards.
Also proper driving technique helps - hands at 4 & 8, to turn always pull down with one hand and keep the other in the proper position.
