1) which company has the cheapest 5 speed kit available? I’m only aware of keisler, but not sure if it’s complete with everything needed to do the swap. For a small block la car, originally a904.

2) For anyone that has purchased and installed one, did it have everything you needed to do the conversion? Or did you need other parts? Does anyone have a link

I did search but didn’t find exactly what I’m looking for

except for the passon 855 5 speed, the others will require cutting and re-fabricating the transmission cross member and relatively severe reshaping of the hump.

I'm doing a Tremec 5 speed conversion right now but I bought the transmission, bell housing and hydraulic release bearing kit used from a friend who was converting his father in laws car to an automatic. Everything else came from American Powertrain and I got the flywheel and clutch from Ram. If you want I can run down the list of what I needed just let me know. Good Luck on your mission

Yes please if I don’t end up getting a part number

Yes you have to modify the tunnel on the tremec conversions. There is a new cover and instructions as to how to install it.

Yes, that's who I was gonna say. American power train. They are out of Tennessee. Somebody did an article and install a couple years back. There prices seem good.

So what I’m seeing is that neither comes with petals or stuff like that. Is there possible a company that has an entire conversion kit with everything to make my car go from automatic to a five speed. Is that even an option for us mopar guys?

Well looks like I’ll wait for them to get back to me on price. Emailed them Nd I am awaiting feedback.
I emailed SST also, looks like its been a month for you. How was your quote/reply?. I'm trying to also figure if I just need a stock manual car pedal assembly or if i can modify my automatic pedal assembly with added stock parts and make it a 3 pedal setup.

If you can find the manual pedals and the pins and bushings you can convert and automatic assembly over to a manual. But sometimes it’s easier to just find the manual assembly and swap it out. No one wants to break up a pedal assembly so finding the parts takes a little time, but a good used manual pedal assembly goes for about 150.00 to 250.00 and someone may be able use your automatic so you can get some funds back if it sells.

Look up silver sport transmission. Pretty sure they make a kit with pedal assembly. Dustin

I just got a quote from them recently. They tout having the most complete kits on the market. I attached the quote they gave me with a parts list.

Edit: removed phone # and address from the quote.

If you are interested at all in a Passon A855 I just talked to a guy from Casper Wy who claims to work very closely with Passon. He told me Jamie is pretty well caught up on orders for the A855 five speeds and that outstanding orders are for early A bodies (66 and earlier) which require some options that are not in production yet and the 70 and later dual mount B bodies. Those are outstanding due to core shift on supplied tail housings, which should be remedied very shortly. Anyhow, if you have interest it would be worth a call to Passon to discuss as it sounds like regular A bodies can be aquired relatively quickly. I know Jamie can provide everything to swap from an auto to a manual. No cutting involved with the A855.

I have a good friend that just got a call from Jamie that his transmission was done. He just put the check in the mail yesterday so it looks like things are moving along quickly now.

Been awhile now lol, and still no reply.

I used the form on their site asking for a quote and had one back within 2 days, and they answered every question I had on the same business day. They were really responsive in my experience.

As I have and I have not found anything in any of my email boxes or calls. I tried twice. I’ll try again and see if any change.
