I am building a '74 Duster and would like to know if the front and rear glass should be installed before or after the interior? What would be easier or better, or does it really matter? I am having the interior trim pieces wrapped in leather.

I just installed my back glass last week in my 74 duster. I had the interior installed but ended up having to remove the seat bottom, door panels, sail trim to get the window in, LOL. The rear glass is difficult to install as it is very tight in the opening. I was able to leave the rear package tray in and the headliner in.

Currently mine has no interior pieces in. Do you think it would be easier to install all the trim pieces, including headliner after the windows are in? My upholsterer said I should wait on the windows, but he thought I had a headliner with bows. When I told him mine was cardboard, he thought maybe the reverse. Just want to coordinate this right.

The dash has to be installed before the windshield goes in. Otherwise you won't be able to access the hardware.
My headliner/glass guy installed headliner first, then gaskets, then glass. On my 69
barracuda the inside lip of the glass gasket covers and overlaps the edges of the headliner. As CudaChick 1968 said the metal dash has to go in before the windshield.

The headliner doesn't interfere it can be in or out. The big issue is the sail panels. I will try and post a few pictures up tonight that will be helpful to show where the inside rubber flats fit in relation to the sail panels. Does your car have a fold down rear seat? Mine does. I am not sure if the sail panels are different for the fold down rear seat compared to the regular seat. Although might not matter.

I have a fixed rear seat. As I recall when I took the car apart 15 years ago, the sail panels hooked behind the rubber gasket on the rear window, as did the headliner.

Here's how mine is done. Rubber covers headliner and sail panel over rubber.
