One time I did the body work on a Satellite and then the car sat waiting for paint for a year and a half because I couldn't decide what color I wanted.

Working in historic preservation makes that easier - I just find out what was there originally and go with that. :)
My dining room painting hasn't been finished because I didn't like how it was working out. No evidence left of the original or later schemes. All I know for sure was that the walls were papered.
I actually wanted the dark green for my B'cuda, but when I had it redone the body guy said it was easier anbd better to keep it original - and so it is. :)
