looking to have my bumpers rechromed for my 70 duster. The prices I’ve gotten from local shops is averaging $750 each. And $250 each for the mirrors.

Does anyone have experience with buying the aftermarket chrome bumpers? Saw some in the classic industries catalog from restorer’s choice for $369. Anyone ever use them? What’s the quality like.

Tri-City does an excellent job, my '69 Barracuda bumpers were only $400 each but I did have a core. They go to Carlisle every year and will take your bumper there to exchange (maybe other swap meets as well). I was extremely happy with there work!~!!
Tri-City only uses original bumpers for their rechroming as far as I know! That's why they like cores in exchange.

I put amd repop bumpers on my car. Not bad for the money. But they are not perfect. I m happy with them overall

Call Tri City Plating in Elizabethton, TN and see what their current rechrome prices are for your bumpers. They do not have any 70 Duster bumper cores unless they have gotten some in the last little bit. They won't weld up the slots in 71 - 72 bumpers either. The welds leaching crap out causes too many come backs on the lifetime warranty they offer!

CudaMike on Ebay uses only original bumpers. He is out of Georgia & does awesome work. I've bought from him twice.

Dallas Plating, Dallas, Ga - metal and chrome refinishers
I had these done for $375 each.

AMD like previously said “not perfect” but neither are the replated ones. Mine are really nice. Maybe an 8 close to 9. Like some have said “ whadda you know”?

I've used Tri-City twice both times excellent work last time I think it was $255.00 a bumper but that was 6 years ago..

I bought repops from Classic Industries . Not perfect but good quality . One half of the cost of having mine straightened and rechromed . There isn't a chrome shop in New England that can do anything longer than 5 feet so shipping would add to the cost

I bought a set of chrome bumpers for my Dart from Tamraz off of eBay. They were about $600 with free shipping to my house. I have no complaint about the quality. They are not absolutely flawless, but you have to look awfully close to see any imperfections.

Another note on the Amd bumpers is that they are a little thinner gauge steel than the originals and you have to be careful tightening up the carriage bolts to them. They will bend and warp really quick if you aren’t t careful
