Remote Filter Mounting

I'm also toying with the idea of installing a drip pan of sorts between the remote filter fitting and the inner fender, to catch all of the last oil dribbles when cracking the filter. If I can figure out a little pan for under there, I'd even fit a drain hose to it to catch the oil below somewhere.

So here is my answer to the age-old question of remote filter locations.

I sandblasted an old magnetic parts tray and added a drain tube with a 1/4" brake line and some JB Weld. With a bit of extra effort, I was even able to include a couple of factory-correct paint runs.

Now I can loosen the oil filter and just let the oil run down the drain into the oil bucket on the floor. A quick wipe of the pan and maybe a glass of warm soapy water to rinse it all clean. No rags, bags, buckets, jugs, puddles, dribbles or bad language.

Oh yeah, and it can even double as a parts tray!
