I like the idea as long as you can control the end so it cant roll off, also on the sides. If it is tall enough on good weather days it can be a lift of sorts allowing access under the car.

That's what I was thinking. Building some sides on the ramps so it can't go off the side and then maybe a wheel stop or built in chalk at the end.
