I just wanted to share this information with my fellow vert owners in case you were looking for a top company.

For the past few months I've been on a search for a blue convertible top. As I searched the internet, I found a copy showing the swatch colors for the black, white, and blue 1967 Plymouth convertibles. I called the major top companies and all replied they didn't make a blue top in 1967. I'd tell them that I had the color swatch page, and then get the we don't do blue. Legendary Interiors was my last call, and they referred me to Electron Tops in Queens, NY. @electrontop.com

Electron Top is a third generation, family owned and operated top company. They have a heck of a website, very easy to work with and very reasonable. It's one of those places you get the "this feel right" places. They've sent several samples to choose from and offered to answer any questions my installer might have. A pleasure to deal with.

The rest of the story, the other day I was talking with a MOPAR buddy who's been a wealth of knowledge. Turns out the swatch page I was looking at, he owns the book its out of. I'm going to forward the samples from Electron Top, and he'll give me the closest match. Small world, funny how it all falls together sometimes, happy, happy!!!!

Electron is a very good product and very helpful people , what I find a bit disturbing is I'm an installer and there promise to the installers is not sell internet tops meaning retail . This is not bashing on you , I always recommend Electron to my customers and I think you'll be happy with your top . I just wished they were true to their word . Good luck

Does anyone make a convertible top with the correct curvature to the glass rear window for the 67-69 A body convertibles? On a 67-69 Barracuda, the rear glass should be very noticeably convex for the top to look right in the "up" position. On the Dart it should either be flat or slightly concave. A buddy recently had a new top installed on his 69 Dart. On his, the rear glass is slightly convex, so it creates a large gap between the rear glass and the sides of the top when the top is in the "up" position.

If the top was designed for the replacement flat generic glass it will have more material covering more of the OEM glass, less view area. Either or, I don't believe there is a way to have the material perfectly follow the curvature of the OEM glass. If not fairly taunt it might flap in the breeze.

I have had an old window installed in new vinyl. Came out great. Too bad my buddy can't remember who he had do it. It likely was Robbins, though.

Nice, be cool to see your barracuda with its blue top back in place. I had ARO 2000 send me out what blues they have available. A buddy I know has the 1966 Valiant/Barracuda salesman sample book to try and match as close as I can. I'm sure it's probably going to be the second from the right...the darkest they have got lol.

I have a 66 Plymouth color and trim book and yes, the blue convertible top sample is closest to the second from the right. Its a very dark blue.

Cool, thanks. Figured it wasn't much different from the 67 blue top sample I've seen. Any chance you could get a picture of the sample and post it?

Did you try SMS Auto fabrics out of Oregon? If anybody has the correct material, it would be them!

Also, for your reference, the only 1967 Barracuda Formula S 383 automatic convertible made was blue on blue, with a blue convertible top! A member here had owned it and offered it to me, but it was a big project that I couldn't take on! It also had blue headrests on the bucket seats, an almost impossible to find color option. She sold it not long ago, I hope it found a good home and is being redone!

Yep that's mine, blue on blue with a soon to be blue convertible top. The company looked through their records and called Haartz, a big convertible/vinyl company in Maryland, and neither had ever made a blue top for a 67 Barracuda. Like you, my Barracuda buddy said he'd never seen a blue top on a car and had only heard of one. Might of been your friends car.

Not sure how well the color will show up in photos. But, I used my both my camera and my phone for photos in direct sun light and I used the camera with a flash as well. Hope this helps.

Did you happen to buy it from a nice lady named Jeanne from Indianapolis?

No, I bought from a seller in upstate New York. That owner enjoyed it 16 years, and the one before him I've talk to owned it 6 years. The car was in the New York/Jersey area until I brought it to Kansas. I got the build card from Chrysler and spent the last year doing all the little things (about 50) to bring it back to original. Had original engine, etc...

I got my sample matched to the 303 Blue vinyl swatch my friend has in his 1967 color trim book. The sample I had, OE11 Dark Blue Pinpoint vinyl, supplied by Haartz, was a perfect color match and almost perfect texture or grain whatever you want to call it. Of course vinyl was evolved over the past 50 years so todau's texture/grain will be a little different. I'm sure there are others possible by a different sample number or name. I have a match so I wanted to share.
