Let's clear this up now!! I have looked for number behind the driver's head on the lip that mounts the bellhousing, also on pass side, the pad located above pan rail at bottom of block, pad below the dist mount, all to no help. On the pad below the dist mount is stanped D 383 then farther down the letter R is stamped. Could this be a replacement or service block?? This block is std. now with no gouges or deep pits. I want it to end up in a-body.
