How did you get into MoPars ?
I was so close to being a Ford guy that it wasn't funny. My first car was a 1970 Ford Maverick with a 300 six cylinder that ran half descent with some work and won me quite a few street races. I went to the local Ford dealership as he was a drag racer and talked to him seeing how hard it would be to put a 351 in it. He talked me out of it saying the 1972 mavericks had wider engine compartments with made it easier. When I graduated in 1974 I got a job at a busy local full service gas station. One customer owned a 1972 (340) 4 speed black Duster and I told him if he ever sold it I wanted first chance at it. 6 months later he said its for sale (1650.00) and I said SOLD. We raced 5-6 nights a week on the street and two days at the track. It ran 11.80's with the junk parts we had available back then and I was a mopar guy for life.
