Stop in for a cup of coffee

Wagoneer was running rough after changing cap & rotor, and some other unrelated things. I thought maybe somehow the timing got messed up, but at least at idle it was on the money. Sometimes it would backfire moderately in the carb as the throttle is opened. I'll check the full curve this weekend but the only reason can think of for a back fire is an intake valve not closing fully.

Hope I'm wrong but can't think of anything else other than the distributor losing a spring.
Parked it for now. Drove the Barracuda home. I'll use it, or if I'm feeling well enough, a bicycle. Looks like my car plans for the next few weeks will go on hold. :(
