Yellow represents manifold vacuum.
The thermostatic switch is in the air cleaner. Somewhere around 95 F, it closes.
As long as there is manifold vacuum in the line to the snorkel, the flapper is up, letting in warm air from around the exahaust manifold.

There is some truth to that statement.
At around 65f is where it usually gives the most trouble,when its humid. Dew on windows,warm enough that choke comes off a littke early and then carb ice starts. In the real cold its not a problem,and no issues over 75 degrees either.
