Supercuda's on the way back...after18 years!

DSCN5299[1].JPG Something odd about my car I forgot to mention....

In the pic above you will see a console mounted clock. I know it is not a factory option as the 68 Barracuda only came with a tach, vacuum gauge, clock , or filler panel in the center gauge pod. . Funny thing about it is that I have the original console top plate that is factory drilled for it. Also , the console wiring has the factory connectors for it.

I have spoken to all the original owners of the car and all state that it has been in the car when they owned it . Only thing I can think of is that the console top is the same as the 67-68 Dart that came with a console mounted Tach. Wonder if its possible that the plate was used possibly because they ran out of top plates and they used this clock to fill the space where the mounting holes were?

I've heard of oddball items showing up in Mopars back in the day. Has anyone seen this before? I spoke to the guys at Heater Box in Canada who retrofitted the clock with electronics to replace the mechanical innards and they say the clock is the same as the unit that came in the 67 Chargers!

My car originally had a Vacuum gauge with the 150mph speedo. I've spoken to the original owner and he is trying to find some pics for me he has of the day he picked the car up at the dealership. I'll post these pics if I can get them.

Be interesting to see if anyone else on here has seen oddball items show up on their A-Bodies.
