Stop in for a cup of coffee

Is that anything like when they say that the only good thing about Old Timer's disease is that you get to make new friends every day?

Im not trying to be insensitive, but it is funny..

It is indeed funny and also somewhat true.

My father has been in an Alzheimer’s care facility for 5+ years now and I can honestly say that a lot of them get joy from everyday being a new experience. It’s the in-between time when they are still holding onto the vague memories of the past that are the most difficult. Once they get past that, they almost all tend to become more relaxed and happier.

Every day my dad comes across the facility’s resident cat, he is as joyed to see it as the first time he discovered it....and that’s because it is a new experience each time...
