Engine swap

1....Why would you use Schumaker mounts going 318--360???

2....What are you doing about the 318--360 balance change? 360 must have a proper 360 front dampener, AND THE PROPER WEIGHTED converter or an AFTERMARKET weighted flex plate

3....If you have the proper crossmember / mount that should "show you" the proper front/ rear engine / trans location. It should not have changed. The water pump shaft lengths should be the same.

Otherwise, as noted above, the proper engine brackets, in the proper place, proper sides

1 - The one side is different on the 360 vs the 318. They were even marked "L" and "R."
Have done it before without the "correct" engine bracket, decided to go easy this time, or so I thought.
2 - The front dampner is a NIB correct for the 360's year and automatic transmission. The flexplate is the B&M for a 360/904 without balance weights on the converter.
3 - I know. Hence, my confusion.

unless he flipped the transmission mount around

Kinda' hard to do. The mounts, literally, fell into place. No prying or cussing or weeping to get the engine into its home, the driveshaft is in the same spot, headers fit easily...however, can't get the fan in place.

IDK.
