A 1974 Duster - My 2nd one, 41 years later!
So getting car ready to go to get buffed out. So I did the first cut with 1500 wet. Then I used dry guide coat over the whole panel. Shows you all the 1500 scratches. Wipe it down with a wet rag. Now you can see what needs to be wet sanded in 2000 grit. As you sand the black goes away leaving an awesome flat panel ready for the 3000 grit.
