Farewell K9 Sam
Been a rough few months, trying to to recover from multiple injuries from a car accident at work and dealing with Workmans Comp for medical treatment. Then Tuesday I had to "put to sleep" my retired partner, K9 Sam. He was trained in explosive detection and rode along side me from 2006 - 2011. He had a great career. Over 1000 documented searches. We worked with the FBI a couple of times even participating in the "Fort Dix Six" terrorist plot operation. He placed three times in USPCA Region VI Explosive Scent Detection Trials. One 2nd & two third places. He survived an attack from two pitbulls and an electrocution to his face from live underground wires. Even harder, he was the third dog that I had to put down in less than 18 months. All had long lives...16y, 12.5y & 15y.
