I know.I thought about doing it up with new paint and what not then came to my senses .It's only original once ! I can live with the patina. You know, they only made 2507 of these. They are rare cars. How many survived?
Not too many, I have only seen 5 Commando carsincluding this one and mine....mine had factory A/C as well..
Rare cars for sure. Maybe they will be valued some day...but I don’t care..I like knowing I will probably be the only one at events....Lol

Mine was not a commando. Original 273 column auto/ps/non ac LA California built.

Currently 340, tti headers and exhaust, tremec 5-spd, front discs with hydro boost, 8 3/4 Detroit tru-trac 3.91s, offset leaf springs, custom canvas top, EE-1 paint, 15” Stockton wheels.

I think there is a good chance that could be the case for most of us 66 Valiant Signet convertible owners.....the only one at the show lol. So far I think we are at a count of 7. Only 2500 more 66 Valiant Signet convertibles left to be found.

I am sure that number is even lower for Commando and A/c cars.....I was never able to find out how many were built with the Commando, auto, ps, a/c and power top? Anybody have that info?

Yeah I wish there was a better break down for the 66 valiants. But Im sure there are not many commando Ac Convertibles out there, especially with your white and red color combo. Mine isnt a commando car but a 273 2 barrel, but what I think makes mine of a low production number is that its actually a factory blue convertible top car. Just waiting to be able to replace the non original white one thats on it now. It will make it a true triple blue car.

This is my 66. Originally a /6 it now has a '73 318 block with 360 magnum heads, ported and messaged, a small cam, Quickfuel 600 vac. Did a lot of clean up and stuff to make her mine. She is dedicated to my wife that passed away, and her name is Kare-bear

The white Valiant was recently sold.
Two very nice cars....I really have tried to find as many 66 Signet Convertible owners. 2507 Ther still have to be quite a few out there. My car is nearly finished. Just some stuff. Like stereo and air conditioning need to be completed. I went with speakers under the seats and an oem “look” deck that works with my IPod, didn’t want to but her any door panels etc. I have a bunch of 66 parts I will be listing once I am finished. Just need to sort through it. I think someone should organize an early A Body Nationals Valiant/Dart/Barracuda from all over.
Be nice to meet and see all the lovers of these wonderful cars.
Prople are taking a lot more interest in the Darts and Valiants recently....
Hope it isn’t just a trend....Kp
