Part out or sell as project?

Do you need the money ??? If so , do whichever brings more. If not, and your love for these cars is greater sell it complete as is, hoping the next guy doesn't part it out.
Yote

One thing for sure. The quality of project cars is so so very poor now days. OK so I bought my first "muscle car" back in '85, a '68 442 that had migrated from Ca to Ks, really nice car ( for its age of 18 yrs old)/ for $1000, later traded it off for body shop owner for paint job on my inline trailer. Then in '86 came a perfect 71 Charger rt, no rust needed nothing, I over paid at $1500 ?? but was happy!! Ok so that was 30 yrs ago!!!!! ..... and then the list of mopars got really long.
Fast forward to today. People restore A bodies that back then hardly anyone would own if you gave it to them.. a slant or 318 !???? ha... I restore, drive them, love them, but 10-15 years ago I could still find pretty good 68-70 chargers, runners, bees, cheap enough. But if I restored it, I could hardly get my $ back out. I could buy it right, and sell it as a project and make a fair profit. I (and the buyer) was happy.
Point is this. People buy projects because: they love and can work on them, or they can't or do not want to spend the $ for a GOOD restored car. It can be hard to find a car that is in between a total project and restored. And a car restored 10-20 years ago with NO quality of work is nothing more than an overpriced project!!!!! I rather have an un untouched rusty project than come behind someone;'s really poor work. Lower quarter filler over rust? OK. I can just cut it all out like the filler was not there. That is not a problem, but, for example, the thing is, these ya hoo's think their car is sorta restored and NOT THAT BAD! and their idiot price reflects that. LOL
The main reason there are still mopar projects out there for people to buy is the A body. Otherwise everyone would be buying those 68-70 runners, and chargers, and e bodies!!!! and look what their asking prices would be!!!??????? LOL

Not sure I totally get your point, but the Dart I have is as solid as they come. I had the rear wheel wells modified and the car mini tubbed. And it was done right. That's one of my biggest issues, I am cursed with perfectionism. If it is not 100% then I don't want it in my garage. It is very difficult to enjoy the hobby when afflicted by such standards, as most are happy with a "driver". I am not. And there comes the rub in taking the car to an unknown shop. Been there, done that, and ended up redoing the whole bloody car to my standards. So I decided that maybe it's time to say enough. Thanks for the replies.
