The trunk key latch on my 68 Barracuda convertible just stopped working. This means i can't get into the trunk.

Any tips on getting the trunk open? I tried pulling the seat but I can't reach back there or see much.

If you have no other alternative, remove the spot welds for one of the braces to make the opening bigger, then weld it back in.

Just did this on my neighbors old car. Take the back of the rear seat out, remove the cardboard divider if still in place, get all of your extensions and a 1/2” socket, and remove the 2 bolts that hold the latch to the body!

After the back seat removed, use a long screwdriver or something similar to reach the latch and turn it just as the key would have. Ask me how I know.

I couldn’t get into mine a few weeks ago because I couldn’t find the key. I unbolted the latch with a few extentions. After I got it open I found the keys inside. Once you get the latch off so you can get into it see if you can free it up. If it’s toast give me a call. I believe I have a spare latch up in the attic I can get to you.

I put an electric latch on mine so I can either use a key or button.

Thanks for all the advice guys. I'll take a look at it this afternoon and let you guys know if one of them works lol.

So I'm slow and discovered that getting into the trunk from the cab is as easy as removing the dust boot. I was able to crawl back there and remove the lock. Sure enough the arm lever thing snapped off the lock cylinder. Thanks for the help!
