Can you identify this tool?

I remember having the option on landlines where you could ask for 2 or 3 different rings. It was great I would give one number to the people I didn't always want to talk to .. If the phone rang once every 2 or 3 seconds (regular rings) that was the regular line. If it rang twice in quick succession it was someone that I might not want to talk to...old girl friends, etc.

My phone number growing up at home was 884-6455 but they used to refer to it as Tulip 46455. Don't know why?? One landline in the middle hall of the house with a 30 ft cord so you could haul it into your room for a private conversation.
