Scamp suspension

I am looking at a Scamp 1971 with no top...it is made to look like a convertible....I am wondering if the thing will twist in two without a top for rigidity. How rigid are these frames?I'm not a hot rodder but would like to make sure it won't break in two or sag in the middle. Thanks for your help.
