aftermarket shifter in factory console

Might be able to use a b body torque shaft in an a body, with that clip on lever to adapt a home made top rod.
On the a body shaft the top lever looks to be fixed to the shaft.
I have been contemplating this, but don't have the tools I need in my garage to fabricate the. top rod at the moment. Shouldn't be too hard if you do.
