Need help diagnosing a throttle cable & gas pedal problem on my '67 Barracuda

The gas pedal pushes in but then the cable doesn't have tension to push the pedal back out.

Wow. I just checked... I always thought there was a return spring on the pedal linkage Under the dash that returned the pedal to the away from the dash position.

It is all in the cable push / pull and the carb return spring.
