This year I managed to visit the Mopar Nationals Germany 2018 in Herten with my dad and mother in their 1966 Valiant Station 200 4speed and a friend in his 1966 Barracuda. It took place in an old industrial ruin called "Zeche Ewald". Damn cool backdrop for our cars and this is my new Video of the Mopar Nationals Germany 2018 at Herten, Germany. It was a lot of fun!
The best part was on saturday evening, when the whole bunch of Mopars drove to Marl/Loemuehle Airport for a just-for-fun-drag race - a lot of very fast A-Bodies.
Unfortunately, I'm still just a hobby film editor - armed with two GoPros and a cell phone camera (which wobbles and has a lame digital:BangHead: zoom) ... But I managed to shorten the six hours of material to just under ten minutes. The video is divided into two parts: the first four minutes are the meeting, at about 4:10min the Drag Racing starts, thanks to user -marvin- for filming (very large Thanks!!!) - that's often ungrateful, because you hardly notice anything about the meeting itself.
Special thanks to the Moparshop Germany for the TOP organization !!! That really needs to be highlighted. This is unbelievably impressive how peaceful the meeting was. Weather was very hot - looked like autumn, but this time no rain! Unfortunately, the race was rather suboptimal for me and my stock 1965 Barracuda Commando V8 (273C.I. 4bbl). Tachometer didn't work and additionally I had a problem with the gasoline intake/fuel pump, especially at higher speed. That combined with the fact that I just scr**ed up the launch (tried to start with 2000+RPM but failed massively:soapbox:) but next time I will be faster:D
