Hello, and thank you in advance for any help anyone might be able to provide. I am looking for any documentation, or really anything, related to a 69 Barracuda Fastback. The Vin is BH29P9B115705. Here's my story on it:
I bought this 69 Barracuda fastback from a guy in CA/AZ in 2012. He told me he had bought the car at a police auction in Orange County, CA in 2006. He said it was (plus his pictures) mostly stripped ( engine, trans, parts of interior, front fenders were not originals, and had '68 hood) but body was good (no rust found anywhere and only minor dents). He said he thought he had the fender tag and receipt from buying it. So we made a deal on it and he actually delivered it to me in VA (for an additional fee of course) as he and his daughter rode in their RV to a country music festival in TN. When he gave it to me I asked where the fender tag was. He said I haven't had time to look, it's either in the car (full of junk from floor to roof) or it's in my office at my business. He said the build sheet should be in there though somewhere. Well I've stripped the car to a shell and there is no fender tag or build sheet anywhere. I tried to call him a few times after I completed my search. At first he told me he hadn't found the fender tag in his office yet, but would look. After about 4-6 more calls, he no longer answered me by phone or e-mail. So I guess that's a dead end.
I've tried to look it up in the Hamtramack registry and under lost and found on here with no luck. I have is the VIN decoded as:
B-BARRACUDA
H-BARRACUDA
29-2 Dr. Sports Hardtop
P-340 CI
9-Model Year
B-Hamtramack Assembly Plant
115705- Production # (I don't even know how to relate that to date it might have been built)
I am sure the original color was Sunfire Yellow with black deluxe interior (Interior Decor Package or maybe sport package?), Rallye Instrument Cluster (has 150 speedometer but no tach or performance indicator in the middle), Automatic with console and bucket seats (seats were gone when I got it), Front Disc Brakes. The rear is a Sure Grip (I believe either a 3.90 or 4.10 ratio). I would love to find out if this car was a Formula S or at least had the sport package.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Since the body is so good (I guess being from CA, the body held up well, I wanted to restore it as much as possible to original look, but without really any history to go on, not sure I'll go that route.
Thanks again guys.
