I don't know why people painted cars in the 80s and very poorly.

One of my 72 demons was B1 sky blue and someone painted it dark brown and it looks horrible.

My new 66 fury was painted forest green when it was originally turbine bronze met. Again, not a very good paint job was done.

LOL. My '68 Barracuda was a dark blue that came off on anything that touched it.
For many it was probably the same reason people do stuff like that today. They hear an advert for a low buck improvement that will make their old _____________ like new. Wait, its even better than new.
