Ice maker has been off for about a year...If I turn it on it faults the boar and the whole fridge goes off on error. From what I read it can be fan, board or both. Don't need ice from the door bad enough to spend a few hundred on an old fridge that still works fine otherwise.

If you unplug the fridge it will quiet down.

LOL yep. The icemaker was working but the ice cream was soft. "Hey wait a second, the fan isn't blowing"
I started it spinning with a screwdriver but it sounds like it want's outta there! LOL

Fixed. A $25 universal motor from our local appliance parts store. The original design was discontinued years ago.
