Additionally that end of the porch had walked a bit out of the joist and rafter pockets, some rot in the siding, some severe decay in the corner post, and the neighbor's roofer had busted the edge slates about 10 years ago. :(
But the real challenge was bracing it so it stayed together while I worked on it. Getting it to move a bit back into the house was above and beyond, and the fact I was even partially successful is just lucky.
Front beam/rafter plate was the complicated part. It had been scarfed previously with only overlap on the internal 3x4. No real joint at the corner either.
