Stop in for a cup of coffee

I was going to hit "like" but that's not correct. Such a sad story. I remember it well. It was horrifying enough just on tv. I can't imagine in person.

Its hard to have lived in the area and not know someone who was in Manahattan if not at the WTC complex.

That was a messed up day. I was in Kuwait at Al Jabber air base got off of night shift and saw the tv one and thought it was a movie. Then all hell broke out on the base. No one had any idea what to do. The wife was on LI where we lived and saw the smoke from the towers and grabbed the kids and hunkered down. I came home about two weeks later and had to play escape from McGuire AFB my base was supposed to pick me up and could not due to being activated to do security. Could not find any way home no rentals not even a U haul available. Found a Taxi 7 hours later to take us for $500 and will never forget going across the GW bridge and seeing the site still smoldering. Was home two days then right back for another month. That ride was hell If I knew I was going back it I would have just stayed there.

I was in Algebra class, first class of the day after room. My teacher was just getting ready to turn off Good Morning America when they went live to the first tower and the smoke bellowing from it. We watched for a bit and he again went to turn it off( no remotes back then) when the second plane hit the second tower, in real time, right in front of us. You could hear the breeze blowing from the AC vents it was that quiet in the school. About 2-3 minutes after the second tower got hit, my buddy leaned over, pointed to our math book which had a picture of the pentagon, said "they've hit our money, next they'll hit our defenses". I waved him off, glued to the TV, then it happened, the pentagon got hit and everyone in that class, turned staring at Ryan, a lot with tear laden faces. It was that moment right there, I decided to join the military. I wanted to punch bin laden in the face personally.

Prayers to this day go out to all those who lost loved ones and who suffered at the hands of evil.
