My 418 Stroker leaked on the Dyno. It looked like it was a oil pan gasket issue so I said I would put a new gasket on it before I installed it in the car. I installed it in the car and found that it leaked again. I bought dye and a ultraviolet flashlight (about $20.00 for both from Amazon) and it it looked like the pan gasket was leaking again. Pulled the motor and changed the gasket, we were looking at the main seal and my buddy Larry said "should we change that as well?" Me being in a hurry to get it running, said "NAW it looks like the pan gasket let's just put it in." Well you guessed it, it leaked again!!! I bought a new seal from Superformance, clocked it and put just a very light smear of RTV on the 2 end pieces (as recommend by Greg at Superformance) and my engine is totally sealed. No leaks, no embarrassing smoke pouring out from under the car. I highly recommend this seal, cost me $29.00 delivered but worth it.
